You are probably asking yourself “Does my child really need to take FMB?” Only you can make that important decision. So, why don't we let the facts speak for themselves. There has never been a greater need for Feed My Brain dietary supplements than today.
Ultimately, the final decision to make FMB an integral component to your family's daily nutritional routine must be made by you. To help you make the right decision, Dr. Alexander Schauss has prepared the following detailed answers to the most common questions about FMB.

What are the benefits of taking FMB?
FMB was developed for one purpose, to put into a convenient pleasant taking tablet those nutrients and a myriad of naturally occurring compounds found in fruits and vegetables that could contribute to the healthy maintenance of brain cells. In some cases, the nutrients in FMB may be beneficial in children who chronically consume a diet low in nutrient density.

Why are there 2 FMB formulas?
Over our life span, our brain ages. Brain cells, unlike other cells in the body, simply don't regenerate and repair the same way as skin cells do, for example. Critical stages in the development of the central nervous system and brain occur in the earliest stages of our life during childhood. Environmental insults, such as exposure to neuro-toxic agents that pervade our world today (e.g. lead, mercury, cadmium), along with periods of chronic stress, combined with less than optimal dietary practices, constantly challenge the body to provide everything the brain needs to perform at its best. But, as we age, our body's ability to absorb nutrients can decrease, while our resiliency to bounce back from illness, injury, stress, or disease diminishes. In addition, with age, the brain faces increasing pressure to perform as well or better than it did when we were very young. We really never leave school, we just get graded differently as we get older! We may be paid more or gain the respect of others, but however we are “graded” there is no question that it often depends on how well our brain is performing in helping us successfully complete those tasks required of us. With this in mind, the FMB Adult formula combines various nutrients known to be needed by the brain, with additional ingredients that some studies are suggesting might contribute to supporting the brain as we age.

| How long will it take FMB to work?
Like any product you take, the period of time it takes to notice a change will vary from individual to individual. When I visited Indonesia to collect data on how the product was performing in the “real world”, not the lab, I would often hear dramatic case histories about students whose academic performance had improved significantly in a relatively short period of time, not just from parents, but particularly from teachers, counselors, and school principals.
The frequent reports we heard throughout Indonesia, was what prompted me to have FMB subjected to the rigorous scientific scrutiny using a research design called the “randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled” study. In this type of study, students are randomly assigned to either receive tablets containing the nutrients in FMB (made by the same manufacturer) or a “sugar” pill, also known as placebo. Both look, taste and smell the same, but one has the nutrients in FMB. Neither the students or the teachers (who gave the students the tablets each day) know which student received the active tablet or placebo.
From this type of study we could see that for the many student responders, increases in innate intelligence were just as dramatic as reported for students, and their teachers and parents, in Indonesia. And this occurred in a matter of a couple of months, again similar to the testimonials reported throughout Indonesia, a country with over 100 different cultures and customs.
The consistency of reports of improvement across this nation, with a population of over 210 million, was overwhelming. After several years of field observations in Indonesia, during which time no significant adverse events were reported and where, by the way, the product was registered and approved as a dietary supplement by the Indonesian FDA, it was time to introduce FMB in the United States, but not until it had been subjected to a randomized study confirming its benefits.

Can I get the same results taking an over the counter multi-vitamin?
FMB contains no levels of any vitamins or mineral at supratherapeutic doses, since FMB is not designed to treat any disease or condition, just formulated to nurture the brain. These lower levels, very similar to the nutrient levels found in the large school study mentioned earlier, may be less “threatening” to the brain's protective barriers, that control the intake of nutrients the brain requires. That may be a partial explanation for why higher dose levels have not been shown to result in higher innate IQ improvements. Similarly, lower doses of nutrients than those found in FMB have also not been shown to be as effective.

How does FMB effect the brain?
The best evidence of FMB's effect is from the finding that it can significantly increase innate intelligence in some children who may have inadequate levels of nutrients found in the formulation. The student’s who responded noticed these gains in a relatively short period of time which was a remarkable accomplishment.

How do I take FMB and what happens if I miss my scheduled time to take it?
This very question came up when teachers were instructed to give their students the ingredients in FMB. But what about the weekend, when students aren't in school to receive the tablets? Since the students could not take FMB on Saturday and Sunday, the decision was made to double the number of tablets on Monday and Friday to make up for the lack of any tablets for two consecutive days. From the results of the study, this worked, and is similar to reports heard in Indonesia, where similar obstacles occurred in classrooms that had teachers administer FMB to students.

| Is FMB beneficial for the whole family?
That's a very interesting question. I remember a family in Jakarta, that had three students in school. Two of the siblings were exceptional students, however the third was a rather poor student, noted for his D's. Everything the family tried to do to improve his academic performance had failed, from providing extra tutoring to forcing the child to stay home and do his homework, according to the father. When they heard about FMB, they acquired a one month supply. By the end of the first month, the boy's teachers noticed a significant improvement in his test scores. The parents also noticed that toward the end of the month he was more prone toward wanting to complete his homework than go outside and play with his friends. He also reduced the amount of time he spent in front of the TV, choosing instead to read. By the end of the second month on FMB his teachers reported to his parents that he had earned his first “A” as a student. These kinds of stories were reported by school officials and parents, and confirmed by the children I met, in one city or town after another. That is what encouraged me to ask university researchers in the United States to independently study the effect of FMB on innate intelligence in school-aged students. Clearly, if one's child is doing well in school, how could this not benefit the family. And, if as an adult, your abilities to perform mental functions improves or are enhanced, how could this also not benefit your family? Of course, results will vary from child to child and no guarantee is being made that every child’s test scores, academic performance, or test scores, will improve.
